～Announcement of Appointment of New Director and President～

Bushu Pharmaceuticals Ltd. (Kawagoe City, Saitama Prefecture; hereinafter “Bushu Pharma”) is pleased to announce that Tadao Takano has been appointed President and COO, and Tetsuichi Okada has been appointed Chairman and CEO, effective June 30, 2021.

At present, Bushu Pharma is actively expanding its business, including the distribution of products in Japan and other Asian countries using Bushu Pharma as distribution hub (our “Gateway to Asia” strategy), the launch of the Bushu Pharma Packaging Center, which will provide new inspection and packaging services, and the expansion of our injectable drug business. In addition, the Company is making bold efforts to accelerate our overseas business development and to support the development of investigational drugs, strengthening our ability to provide a one-stop service from technical transfer and manufacturing to distribution.

At the same time, the environment the Company faces is undergoing a period of major change – including changes in business model -due to the prolonged spread of COVID-19 infections .

Mr. Takano joined Bushu Pharma in April 2019, providing leadership mainly in the Production Division since that time. Furthermore, from July 2019, his leadership role expanded as he took on the roles of Vice President and COO.

In order for Bushu Pharma to successfully expand its business and further promote business growth in this challenging environment, the company needs stronger leadership, strategic direction and operational guidelines, more than ever before. Taking this into consideration, Takano has been appointed as President of the Company.
